Sigh ... why oh why don't I watch where I am putting my feet? It's not like they're ruddy great clodhoppers or anything, just a dainty 4.5/5 thereabouts. Yet when it comes to manouevring obstacles they turn into huge platters that get caught up in all manner of things! Huh

Last night I ended up on the floor! Granted I do have very dodgy knees which, every now and then, decide they're not going to play the game and give way leaving me lurching about all over the place. But last night was different, not that I really remember it, except the bit where I was lying prostrate on the floor looking and feeling liking a complete prat! Seems I caught my foot on the base of a stand, the same stand others had caught their feet on throughout the evening but of course I had to be the one to go full length! RollEyes

Fortunately there were plenty of health professionals around so I received the best of care. Well, if you're going to do tricks that are doomed to failure it might as well be in the hospital! It did get me a fast appointment (next Thursday!) with the rheumatologist about afore-mentioned dodgy knees!

Today I am battered and bruised, not surprisingly! Badly bruised shoulder, nice bruise across my face, swollen thumb and one or two subluxated fingers!! Plus a smattering of light bruises here and there to add a touch of colour!

Heyho ... I was due for something to happen to add a little excitement to my otherwise quite uneventful life! It made for an interesting NRAS meeting, bet no-one else has cabaret acts!! LOL LOL

Oh Lyn you poor thing. Surely it is not up to you to provide all the entertainment.LOL You must have gone with quite a wollop to get such a lot of brusing. I have never actually fell but I regularly kick something that is in the way by accident and my knee gives way from under me and then it is a pantomine to keep standing without doing a non-graceful swan dive.

When on holiday last year my 14 year old Daughter was getting her breakfast from the buffet and went sprawling up the stairs in front of a load of pensioners. We did not realise how far bacon, egg, sausage and beans could goBigGrin It was the mortification not the hurting shins and elbows which have stayed with her ever since.

The only saving grace is that you get to see your Consultant early and hopefully they can get those knees sorted for you.

Hope you feel a little better soon and that the bruises soon change to a rainbow.

Take care

Jackie

Oh Lyn, I told you not to try carrying that chainsaw everywhere, it's far too heavy and now look what's happened!Scared
Hope you switched it off when you fell so that it didn't saw through the floorboards! LOL

No seriously, I'm sorry this happened to you. I know all about having one knee that gives way, there must be no way to stop yourself falling when they both do it!
Hope you can get lots of rest to give your poor body chance to recover.

Honestly....the lengths people have to go to just to get an appointment!Laugh

Take care, love Doreen xx

Oh Lyn. I missed that one. Obviously left too earlyBigGrin Seriously, I hope you didn't hurt yourself too much (except for your pride of course.) You were struggling and having crutches as well probably didn't help. You did look much better than when I saw you last time. I know that doesn't mean a thing but I think it boosts your spirits a little. It was good to see you and have a little chat at least. You have my tel. no. now so give me a ring. Perhaps we could meet up for a coffee or you can come here. Do you drive? I don't but can get the bus.

Oh Lyn, Lyn - you're always so busy looking round for things to raze to the ground with your chain saw or eyeing up everyone's hair, I'm not surprised you fell. Also, you should remove your tassels when walking with sticks - they so easily get caught up and send you sprawling. As for the drink - well, Dor is just at her wits end with it all. She is having to drink everything before you find it and it's taking its toll!! She has been under the table at the Waltzing Weasel today despite your text telling her to behave.RollEyes

Hope tomorrow goes smoothly - I don't mean this nonesense but you know that!

Lots of love and hugs for the not sore places

Hi Guys

Thank you for all your lovely thoughtful comments and stories; cheered me up no end Smile

I think the bang to the head caused some concussion, no surprise really as my head seemed to take the brunt of the fall. I managed to get through the weekend and Jake off to uni (not that I carried anything!) but I think I was high on adrenaline (or chainsaw oil!) because once the activity stopped I kind of slumped and went into a steady decline! Bruises have healed now and i'm just waiting for my rheumatology appointment which didn't materialise last week but I am booked in for this Thursday ... both knees to be aspirated and injected, again! The joys RollEyes

Chainsaw in tact ... thank goodness, and hospital will be fully repaired in time for our birthday meeting! I'm now off to find a new entertainer for the evening LOL

Thanks again for your concerns and good wishes everyone.

Lyn xx
